Where Azerbaijan Touches the Sky
Shahdag is the country's first and largest mountain resort — 45 km of pistes in winter, endless trails in summer, beneath the 4,243-metre King Mountain.
The Resort
A whole mountain, open all year
Opened in 2012 on the forested slopes of the Qusar district, Shahdag Mountain Resort turned a remote Caucasus ridge into Azerbaijan's premier alpine destination. In winter it is a full ski area with guaranteed snow; in summer it becomes a playground of paragliders, hiking trails and mountain air — just under three hours from Baku.

DiscoverWhy Shahdag
Snow when nowhere else has it
532 snow guns blanket every metre of the skiable terrain, so the season runs reliably from December to April regardless of the sky. Twenty lifts move up to 25,000 guests an hour — there are no crowds, only mountain.
Beyond the pistes
On the edge of the largest national park in Azerbaijan
Shahdag National Park wraps the resort in 130,000 hectares of alpine meadow, beech forest and high pasture, home to the East Caucasian tur and brown bear. Nearby, the ancient stone village of Khinalig clings to the heights at over 2,000 metres.

The mountain does not belong to a season. It belongs to whoever climbs it.
